System (password) Reset Procedure

You can reset the storage system to use its original administrator user name (admin) and password (storage) by pressing the small, recessed reset button on the back of the storage system1.

This also resets the storage system to its original network settings. If you previously configured the storage system to use a specific IP address, it will now obtain its IP address from the DHCP server (if any). If you don’t have a DHCP server on the network, it will use its default IP address (192.168.0.101), subnet 255.255.255.0.

The system reset procedure will not delete RAID configuration or data on the hard disk drives.

Steps to Perform a System Reset:

   1. With the system powered on. 
   2. Depress and hold the reset button on the back of the unit for three to five seconds. 

The Intel® Entry Storage System SS4000-E will reboot to complete the system reset procedure. The system will be inaccessible during this time. When the reboot and reset is complete, you will be redirected to the login page indicating the completion of the reset procedure.

Please login using the default user name (admin) and password (storage). The Administrator login can be changed from the defaults under the Advanced tab, System selection.
